<p>Lets say someone has a 4.0 UW 5.0 W 2300 sat 36 ACT but they have absolutely no EC’s and about 50 volenteer hours what are their chances to get into top schools</p>

<p>Rather unlikely…Those top schools get plenty of extremely well qualified students in terms of academics, ECs make people stand out/show that they are more then strong numbers.
P.S. I know somebody with basically those numbers and had ECs who got deferred by MIT</p>
<p>It would be almost impossible to get into any of those schools. Unless if the applicant were a certified Native American or had some other major hook such as having an alumnus dad who gave $10 million to the school.</p>
