<p>Obviously your stats are great. And you’ll probably get Yale early. BUT the early Yale pool is going to be incredibly competitive this year and your ECs (with the exception of your research) seem to be pretty by the book. Are you a leader in any of these clubs?</p>
<p>Quitting a foreign language, especially senior year is a red flag to schools. They don’t like to see it.</p>
<p>And you HAVE to take SAT IIs for the schools that you seem to want.</p>
<p>Aren’t you only able to be a Intel finalist in your senior year? How did you do that before then because that’s pretty amazing. </p>
<p>1) Chances are pretty good 25-50%
2) Two years might hurt a bit because colleges may wonder at why you’ve stopped your language. However, if you’ve filled that spot with something impressive that shows your passion for a particular subject might be able to ameliorate that a little bit. Most schools actually prefer 4 years of a language
3) The Ivies require SAT IIs which basically means they’re very important. Or else you have no chance of admittance. Take them in areas that you’re good at. Maybe history/literature (for debate) or one of the sciences. However, most schools usually like to see the Math IIC test so you should definitely try to take that one. Keep in mind you need at least two though more is better.</p>
<p>First, I’d ask to see course load because top colleges see almost no applicants with just 2 years of language. SATIIs are vey important. There is a lot here but I’m not sure it’s the full package.</p>
<p>ISEF != Intel STS. ISEF finalist just means you qualified for ISEF, meaning you did well at your local science fair, which isn’t that big of a deal depending on where your fair is.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure Intel ISEF finalist is less prestigious than Siemens or Intel STS Finalist.</p>
yale ea is a good choice. i think yale really likes well-rounded people, and you definitely show it.
no, it shouldn’t hurt you, unless you wanted to major in a language.
sat ii’s are really important. math iic is a major one the elite colleges look at. and you seem super good at science, so you should take bio and chem.</p>
<p>yeah, i will be applying to stanford (most likely), MIT and berkeley in addition to the ivies. anything last minute i could do to make my app nicer (besides taking SAT IIs and writing an amazing essay)?</p>
