I know all ‘chances’ are fairly subjective, and all places use holistic admissions, but… any thoughts on my son and a match?
He is applying this fall to HYPSM and a few others (Penn, Berkeley, Alabama Honors/Presidential, Delaware Honors/DiScho, PSU/Schreyer), with a likely major in engineering/biology/math:

SAT II’s: Math II (800) Physics (760)

School Clubs/Organizations:

Largest commitment is Varsity Lacrosse (9-12th grade, starter); multiple lacrosse clubs/honors
Student Council, Ski Club, Varsity swim team (9th grade, varsity letter)

Service Activities/Accomplishments: Hospital Student Volunteer Program (50+ hours), National Honor Society student tutor program, Retirement Community service volunteer

Is your son recruitable in lacrosse? Sports seems to be his main EC focus. His GPA/curricular rigor/test scores are all in the right range, and solid. What are his academic interests and directions?

Possibly as a walk on but all ‘slots’ are filled. Coaches at a few Ivies may support him unofficially.

And his interests are looking like engineering/sciences/math. Possibly pre-med.

Any other chance thoughts or other school suggestions?
