I actually have a REAL problem (average student)

SAT-1770 M-570 CR-550 WR-580
Rank-140/500 (28%) GPA-3.7
my tanscript has maybe about 3 c’s but all from pre-ap and AP courses

with that being said you can tell that my academic record is not that strong but i really want(ed) to go to Rice. but they require 2 subject test. and i was going to take chemistry and math (I) in about 3 weeks but i took pre-ap chemistry 2 years ago and have taken less than a semester of AP chem. and i have a feeling that im not going to be prepared enough to gain a score that will enhance my credentials

my question should i take the subject tests and pray for the best OR should i take another reasoning test and try and get a good sat score and forget about rice?

fyi- my coach told me i should be able to get my college paid for, and i already recieved a questionnaire from rice.
also i want to go to medical school (i know youre thinking she to dumb to make it that far but that’s besides the point) so i need a school that will push me academically the farthest

oh yeah im a senior

you only apply to college once (normally) so i say go for it. Take the SAT II’s since Rice requires them and study your butt off.

take the SAT II’s
get a review book and start preparing for what is going to be on the test.

just remember: you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. you never know how well you might do on them. just prepare yourself to the best of your ability and hope for the best.

why don’t u think about some other premed schools ?

Make sure you apply to some colleges that you know you can afford and that your scores are in their top 25%. That’s the best way of ensuring that you can go to college next year. Rice is a longshot. Have some sure bets.

Why don’t you just take the ACT?
