i am going to give to give my sat subject test in june. i am in 12th currently. is it a good choice

i am taking my sat subject test maths level 1, maths level 2 and literature. is it a good choice as i wanted to get into duke university or maybe caltech or mit.
please help me on how i should prepare to get a good score of about (2000 and above)

First of all, each subject test is out of 800 points. Second of all, you shouldn’t take both math subject tests. Third of all, if you’re already a senior…whaaat?

You seem to have made a mistake there…

*Unless you are taking a gap year, I don’t understand why you are taking a subject test after 12th grade.
*crystal19 is right; taking both math subject tests isn’t any better than taking one.
*Subject tests are out of 800, and don’t add. A 2000 on Math1 + Math2 + Literature doesn’t seem that strong for a prestigious university.
*Caltech and MIT require a science subject test.

so can i change my math level 1 test into some other test like physics or chemistry on the test day

do i have to pay a fees for it

You can freely change subject tests on the day of, no fees required. If you take an extra subject test then you’l have to pay a fee.

I hope you’re taking a gap year… because it’s way too late to start in September.

First of all, don’t take both Math 1 and 2. Second, it IS a good idea to take them as many of the top schools require 2 of them.

For studying, get some Barron’s or Kaplan books. They should have books for your subjects.
