They’ve had some controversial ones, like the Crazy for You bear that was in a strait jacket and came with commitment papers. The mental health community was NOT amused.

Don’t knock Chia Pets, they are such a staple.

I received one for Christmas one year, as a joke (I hope). I must admit, I am probably the only person whose Chia Pet wouldn’t grow properly. I don’t think I put the seeds on right.

I’m only familiar with their radio ads, but your post still made me laugh. Around here, any Vermont Teddy Bear ad is known as a Snow Day ad, because the station that lists the school closings runs their ads in very heavy rotation. (Along with the one that thanks CSEA workers “out there plowing your streets!” Indeed they are. And plowing my driveway in, too.)

Speaking of which, we heard A LOT OF SNOW DAY ADS this morning. . . . And I’m now home alone with the kindergartner. Sadly, the snow is not the good-for-playing kind. Brace yourselves - you may be seeing a lot of posts from me today. :D

Thanks for the link to the ad. The Crazy for You bear did cause a big stink – they did sell out of those, and my husband bought me one of the very last ones.

We took a trip to the Vermont Teddy Bear factory in Shelburne when D was about 8. D has fond memories of putting the “heart” into place and having him all sewn up. That teddy bear still has the place of honor in her room - I’m wondering if it’s going to make the trip to college next year!
