I am Intrested...

Please answer with a 1. or 2.

I go to college because I feel that I will be a failure in life If I do not go.

I go to college because I love learning and the experience of going to college.

** Now I know some people may be thinking **

I go to college for both those reasons.

Please do not answer that!

Which one of the two choices do you feel most strongly towards.

I am just interested in what the response would be…

*Yes I know I spelled interested in the title wrong =/

For me it’s #2, but you need to define “failure in life.” Do you mean a fear of not getting a good job? Or do you mean a fear of not living up to some outside standard of success? The two are very different. I’m sure there are other ways to read it as well. I will also say that there is a big difference in your #2 between going to college for the love of learning and going to college for the “collegiate experience”–which does not necessarily involve learning at all. There is certainly an overlap, but the two can be very different.

Why do you ask?
