The plan is to apply at the top 8 electrical engineering schools (US rankings). By the time I finish high school I calculated that i’ll have more then 60 credits. Ill surely be done with calc physics and up to calc 3. Assume i’ll maintain my 4.0. The reasoning behind my high school GPA is that I have a gut feeling of deep hate for high school, which obviously worked against me, since I wouldn’t be here if I had perfect stats. Stupid, but i should have known better. My HS curriculum is completed, so I’m not taking anything senior year.

I’ve really gotten into robotics, so i’m looking for ECs that are related. Im planning to contact some local robotics companies for volunteering. Should I rather ask for a unpaid internship rather than free volunteering?

Currently reading David Cook’s series of robotics books. After I gain some insight in robotics and do several projects of my own, i’m planning to start a robotics/tehcnology club at OCC. I’ve been desperate to find a robotics club around here, but i just cant. Is it a good idea to start my own with the limited experience I will have?

I’m interested in learning more about mechanical machinery, such as car motors, jet engines. Any suggestions? (maybe learning how to repair a car, dissemble/assemble motors)

I was thinking of transferring to Michigan state or some other local university, just to take some more rigorous courses and to take some actual damn engineering classes. OCC has NO engineering classes. Is this a good idea?

OCC does have wielding and robotics classes. Should I take these instead of staying on route to completing all of my general education requirements? I would love to take them.

I’ve been pondering on the idea of doing some self teaching this summer. I have a boatload of torrent e-books relating to science and engineering. Is it a good idea to get a head start per se, and study books such as thermodynamics and circuits all summer?

Please recommend some related and meaningful ECs I can do that are worthy and impressive.

I feel like I am doing too many academical things. Some people told me to cut down on my college course load and have fun/do more ECs. I always say I can have fun later, hehe. But I need to start doing some interesting ECs.

As of my biased naive judging, I’m taking U of M as safe. If I retake ACT and get a high score, I’m taking MIT as a fairly good chance (assuming I do some awesome ECs). Let the bashing begin. (?)

In all seriousness, input is appreciated, ideally long and thorough/descriptive.

Thanks for your time in advance.

PS. Sorry if I sound like a ■■■■■, I guess im young and dumb.
