I am officially a curmudgeon.

This report makes me want to do everything that is bad for me but fun.
Like eat bacon, wash it down with mimosas and skittles for dessert.
[we are all gonna die](http://grist.org/list/some-bpa-free-plastic-is-actually-worse-for-you-than-normal-plastic/=)

The smog. I can’t see. @-)

Sorry about the smog.

I thought this was going to be a link to one of those quizzes – would I too be a curmudgeon?

Didn’t there use to be a CCer with the name of curmudgeon?

Yep, and the best writer on CC for years. Sure do miss him.

Hes probably enjoying his retirement on Kauai.

The article is scary enough but doesn’t even mention the BPA that lines metal cans (which you think would be metal) or is embedded in every receipt (which you think would be paper). So much for trying to avoid plastic, because you can’t!

Just go for bacon and skittles, preferably bacon that is wrapped in butcher paper.

My daughter has health problems that she feels are related to endocrine disruptors.
Shes probably right, we both have osteoporosis and we both are way too young for it.
I dont think our habits are inherently more toxic than anyone elses, but we could have a genetic predisposition that got pushed into the danger zone by the environment.
I guess I will have to use a glass water bottle, but Im not using a mason jar!

Curm is still on but over on the medical school boards (pre-med mostly) and he is still a FANTASTIC writer. Keeps us in “stitches” as those of us with med school students are often dazed and confused. Just when you thought you were in the clear with apps and testing. But nooooooooooo…MCAT, STEP 1, shelf exams,STEP 2, interviews for med school and interviews for residency (which we get to pay for at $10,000s-just for the interviews and apps) and then the tuition which is astronomical…then residency lists, the rankings and the match…

So Curm provides levity and often clarity.
