I am a junior and I was wondering if current Yale students could help me get the facts straight…
Does Yale accept SAT II scores like they accept AP scores for placing students into higher-level courses once they get accepted?
Also, to any college student…In high school we, students, have to take Government and Politics…Do we have to take government in college even if you are not going to major on it?

If you go to the Yale website
they have a page that explains advancement, and the credits you need. I do know that you won’t get any
credit for the gov ap test, regardless of your score.

Also you don’t have to take government at Yale. You do have distributional requirements you have to fulfill, though. So you would have to have two credits of a social studies class, but your options are really vast as to how you can fulfill that requirement.

Some departments will let you place into a higher level class with just SAT II scores. Bio might be the only dep’t (it’s the only one I know of), but definitely find out from Yale.

No specific gov’t classes. As 99999 said, you gotta take 2 social science classes, but they really to vary a lot in subject.
