hppink09 - just a few hours

Found out today on website that my daughter was accepted in the Blinn Team program, yahoooo!

I was accepted to the blinn team today!! good luck to everyone else waiting!

so i just happened to check my howdy portal thing. and under financial aid under status in red it used to say (application status check AIS, since i got wait listed) but now under status it says good. is this a sign? also i declined the blinn team offer and only accepted to wait list. it seems a lot of people are being accepted to blinn team. what is going on with the wait list?

Kmolm - Did you find out for sure if you were accepted off of the waitlist?

Havenāt heard anything. How bout yāall???

actually just moved to step 6 today. i guess i will be finding out soon. crossing my fingers.

whatās step 6?

It is the mailing of your admissions decision for the waitlist

Ugh⦠I just checked and it says a decision was mailed. I hope thatās not a bad sign that we both have the same thing.

I didnāt accept the BLINN team option.

The strange thing about the whole thing is that I got into University of Texas. Iām out-of-state and I have a slightly unique circumstance.

The summer before my senior year I finally got treated for my ADHD and got Adderall XR, so I could actually focus and perform like normal. My grades up to the beginning of senior were not great. But now I have a 4.0 for the year.

I wrote long letters to both schools explaining the situation and UT accepted me about a week later.

However, I do have a HUGE list of extracirrucular activities, including state-wide violin competitions and placing 4th in the world for high-school ensembles.

My stats:
ACT - 28
Class rank - [4 years] bottom half
Class rank - [Senior Year] Top 5%
Cumulative GPA - 3.0 [Unweighted]
Senior Year GPA - 4.0 [4.2 Weighted]
Letter of Recommendation from close family friend OB/GYN

On top of that, Iām 16 and my birthday is Sept. 4th. I started HS when I was 12 and will enter college at 16.

I moved to step 6 today too. Hopefully this isnĀt a bad sign
I also denied Blinn Team

Still waitingā¦

Chances are if they are starting to accept people for blinn teamā¦wait list decisions are over

AIS didnāt post anything about wait list decision. i guess we have to wait for it to come in the mail. iām out of state too. and i only accepted the wait list option not blinn team.

To those who had a decision mailed on 5/27 or 5/28, I hope your case is different.

I received my mail today, hoping for a large packet saying āWelcome to Texas A&Mā but instead, I was met with a standard envelope from the Office of Admissions and Records. My heart sank.

Needless to say, I didnāt get in. And yes, I am *ed. Very *ed. Now I hate that pathetic piece of {insert explicative here} 10% rule for in-state high schools because all of the low-performing schools who produce students who would otherwise FAIL in standard public schools get admission over those of us who worked our asses of and had dreams of coming to A&M.

/rant

For the time being, Iāll be attending UT Austin and Iāll see if I can transfer in after 1st semester.

Good luck to all of you and your college choices, itās been a wild ride.

sorry you didnt get into TAMU
but UT is not bad. I live in AUstin, and its a great city. You really cant go wrong either way.

Saumaun, Iām assuming youāre OOS since a LOT of OOS got in for UT this year.
Iāll trade you my spot at A&M for yours at UT. :D

uhhh i didnāt get in either. and iām ***ssseeddd off. OOS too. iām in the top 11% and still didnāt get in . i even got into NYU. what the hell. A&M was the only place i actually wanted to go to. life sucks. iām so mad.

Sorry to hear that. NYU is a great school, especially if youāre looking to major in Business or Theatre. But it is so dang expensive, though!

Im not a freshman but, I share the same attitude towards A&Mās admissions. I was accepted to UTās engineering program yesturday. I probley wonāt hear from A&M until late June since I am on the transfer wait list so, guess where Im going ;)⦠Its sad that they are denying great possible aggies. I also dislike their speed of the admissions department. Good luck to all who are going on to other schools!
