I can cook, how much of an asset am I?

I can cook pretty much anything, and I’ll be joining GT this fall. I may be in an apartment, but not sure. If I’m in an apartment, I can cook whenever. Otherwise, it will be more difficult and less likely to happen (residence hall kitchens suck).

If I can cook for someone, can I cut any kind of deal?

Also, how are local grocery stores and transportation to them? Again, not sure where I’ll live on campus. Finishing housing stuff tonight.

Are looking to be a personal chef for a student? What do you mean by asset? Cut a deal with, who? You need to be more self explanatory about your intentions.

I knew someone at GW who would have roomed with me and given me access to his microwave and minifridge if I would cook for him. I don’t want to sound cocky, so just wondering if there’s someone out there who would somehow financially persuade me to cook for them, I would. Personal chef sounds fine, I just don’t konw how someone could compensate me.

Best case scenario, someone looking for an apartment roommate would help me pay for the apartment if I cook.

Good luck with that.

Either help pay for room or groceries to cook with would be the best deal and I’d definitely accept it.

This fall you are entering GTech and are seeking an apartment with a roommate who will forgo part of the rent in exchange for you cooking meals. Try Craiglist or a GTech forum. Good luck.

Ok, I’m definitely going to be in an apartment.

Now, I just need to know if a roommate would pay for groceries if I cooked. Also, how is choice and transportation to/from grocery stores.

You need to specifically word in your listing what you require as a negotiating point in finding a roommate.
“GT student seeking apt with roommate who will exchange partial rent for price of groceries and home cooked meals.”
If you get any replies then work out the transportation to/from the store.

Interesting-kinda.

There is a bus route to the Publics grocery store w/times for drop off and pickup.
Look for the grocery route on the left.

can you iron & do laundry?

this is weird

i concur ^
