I can't ace the SAT I.

So I’m practically done with all my tests and my scores just don’t make sense?

Like for example, SAT II Lit is suppose to be CR on steroids yet I scored a 700 on the subject test while my CR score just floats around the low 600s. Hell, I even went in unprepared for Lit but studied my butt off for CR but to no avail. Same thing with the math section. Low 600s on the SATI and a 700+ SAT Math IC score.

I don’t understand the lack of correlation between my SAT I and SAT II scores. I’ve taken the SAT twice already; the score is about the same. Should I take the SAT for the third time? If so, what can I do to improve my score? And more importantly, how will colleges look at this?

The math problems and critical reading passages require other skills from the SAT IIs and academic work. They can be tricky. You need to study for them. I would recommend getting “Critical Reader” by Meltzer and studying vocabulary with flash cards. Make sure you know all the math on the test, as given in Barrons SAT, Dr. Chang’s, and elsewhere. Practice with hard real math SAT problems. If you can, you should probably get a good tutor. Also, read the information in the best of forums thread at the top of this page.

@sattut Will do. Thanks for your input!
