I’ve visited Tufts on multiple occasions and have met/kept in touch with professors.

Any chance?
Thanks so so so much :)

Your GPA is the weakest part of your application portfolio. Is it a B+ weighted or unweighted? I wonder if maybe you should’ve waited and applied ED II since it seems you’re getting all A’s senior year; you could’ve sent you first semester grade report if you had done that… Hmm. Anyway, do you have any idea what your rank is? That’s more important than your GPA, because if your valedictorian has a 92 average, then you’re in top shape (that was the case at my school; the 92er went to Princeton). However, if your rank is low, then it’s not so hot.

Your Math SAT I/II scores are excellent; your SAT I CR is quite poor, but it may be counter-balanced by your fine score in SAT II Lit. Your continued interest/involvement in journalism is great – you’ve gone beyond the average high school newspaper writer; it shows commitment and maturity on your part. It also shows that Tufts’ adcom can probably expect you to want to write for an on-campus publication.

I believe your essays will push you either way.

Tufts is a reach for you. But it’s not impossible. All you can do now is wait. Less than a week; it’s the final stretch.

Breathe.

B+ is unweighted and my school doesn’t do class rank, but I know that in the school report I fall under the category of having the most rigorous curriculum while maintaining what the school refers to as “excellent” grades…

All right. Your part is done. Now it’s all up to the postal service. Good luck and let us know how it went!

If anyone else has an opinion, I would love to hear it!
Thanks.

you obviously have a passion, and that’s for your journalism (yrbk and newspaper) stuff. I saw that just by glancing at your post; Tufts will obviously see that after reviewing your application. That might be more helpful than a high GPA would be. You never know. Schools like this are often a shot in the dark anyway. Just chillax this weekend and don’t freak out too much :)

“Just chillax”… wise words. Good luck to everyone… maybe one of you should start an ED Results page so the rest of us can keep up!

You have outstanding EC’s. I think they may be enough to get you in.
Your SAT’s are also very good. GPA may be a little low, but I’m not sure about that. My daughter got in with a 3.7 GPA. She had excellent SAT’s though.

I’m betting that you get in. Please post back and let us know how you did.

Good luck. :-)

“your SAT I CR is quite poor”

You are tough  …650 is only 10 points below the mid 50% range, and with the reported spread CollegeBoard will supply Tufts, it can be viewed as 30-40 points higher, if they so choose

“B+ is unweighted and my school doesn’t do class rank”

Tufts will calcualte your rank from the h/s profile suppled by your gc
