Hi,
I know the decision is up to me, but I would like to hear other opinions. I just graduated from high school in June 2016,and then I got a scholarship to study information technology, which was chosen by the scholarship director, not me. Originally I wanted to study pharmacy, but had to accept it since my family couldn’t afford to pay for any university, I’ve been accepted by a school of pharmacy, but it doesn’t offer a scholarship that covers enough fees to afford it. Recently the director of the scholarship said that I can apply for transferring, but now I’m torn whether to transfer or not, since I like the course after trying it for a semester, I’m interested In software and web development, and I can have a degree in computer science If I take a course for two years, but I still envy people I know who study pharmacy, It seems fun, and more respected than information technology. I admit that I am a bit embarrassed to tell my old classmates what’s my major, most of them think I won’t find a job after graduation If I don’t transfer. I am afraid that I will make a bad choice and regret it later.

The job outlook for IT is 12% growth over the next several years, higher than the national average of 7% Statistically speaking - if you get a bachelors, a decent GPA, I don’t really see why you wouldn’t get a job.
Ok on the other side of things - going into pharmacy-related work generally requires pharmacy school. If you think you might want to go to pharmacy school - why not keep your IT degree, but use some of your free electives taking pre-pharmacy classes!

The job market is so much better for IT than pharmacists. There are a glut of kids in school to be pharmacists right now too. Stay with IT.
