<p>2 different sources say northeastern’s acceptance rate is 57 and 9… a significant difference. where is accurate information for 2008 admissions? or 2007 is 08 isn’t available yet?</p>

<p>Collegeboard.com lists 2007 admissions rates. It’s one of the most useful sites for the college application process. [College</a> Search - Northeastern University - NU - At a Glance](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board) I dont know where Wikipedia’s 9% figure comes from and the source cited for that statistic doesn’t seem to back it up. Maybe the 20k application figure – also claimed by TheU – comes from wustl-type stubs or something. In any case, the sat/gpa ranges are not anywhere near that caliber. Keep in mind, though, that these figures are a year old and they have dropped drastically this year in many cases (Vandy and Chicago for example).</p>
<p>Also, Eugene Lang, while it sounds appealing at first glance, is probably not what you’re looking for in a school. It’s not in a campus-type setting and you cannot even apply if you have not attended college before – the New School is for people whose college experience wasn’t satisfying.</p>
<p>They might have messed up: If the yield is not 100%, then they will admit way more applicants than 2,800. Say that 1/3 of accepted students decide to go there. That boosts up the admissions rate to 27%, because only 9% of the students will go there.</p>
<p>30,000 applicants for 2,800 spots, but they could accept 10,000 (only 2,800 of which will attend). Make sense?</p>
<p>I’m late, I know, but Shimer College’s acceptance rate I once saw quoted as 60% or something. I go there now. To get to Shimer you have to write well, converse well, have opinions, and want to be there. The essays and interview count more than scores or grades, as far as I can tell.</p>
<p>for all your schools – go to the school website and search for “common data set” – not all schools make them readily accessible, but if they do it is going to be the most accurate info – and in the same format at every school so its easy to compare.</p>
