I can't really digest fructose, and I'm going off to college. What do I do now?

Short version:
I can’t use the meal plan due to medical reasons. Who should I talk to so that I can bring some kind of cooking equipment and not purchase the meal plan?

Long version:
I found out really recently that I have fructose malabsorption, meaning my ability to digest fructose is reduced (kind of like lactose in lactose intolerant people).

This means that I should be avoiding excess sugar, anything with high fructose corn syrup, products containing wheat, certain fruits, and a bunch of other stuff. Meaning, the on-campus dining is a big no-no.

My idea is to bring a rice cooker and kettle to college, and cook my own food instead of buying a meal plan. I’m not sure who to talk to, considering that most schools do not allow these in the dorms (as far as I know) and have mandatory meal plans.

If it helps I’m probably going to Case Western Reserve University this fall (so excited!!!).

This is the kind of thing you should easily be able to Google.

@elliebham
Sorry, I wasn’t sure what to look up and kept getting meal plan costs. Thank you so much!
