I change my mind all the time.

Hi Everyone,

I thought this would be better to post in the parents forum, because some of you would have good advice.

I can’t make up my mind.

One month ago, I wanted to be a lawyer.

Two weeks ago, an investment banker.

Today, a doctor.

It’s scary.

You’re not even 16 yet, according to your profile. Just study hard and don’t worry about your future career yet. Take a variety of classes in college and see what interests you.

One other suggestion - try job shadowing a couple of professionals. Both my sons did that, and it was very helpful. I’ve had a HS student job shadow me (a structural engineer), and he decided to go into the field.

I am over 50 and I am still changing my mind. I just recently changed my profession. There is no reason why you need to stick with one, a lot of careers are fungible.

When I grow up (I’m 62), I want to be a pixie.

I want to be a piano soloist!

That’s okay! I changed my mind at 29 and finally pursued my passion. You’re young-just don’t do anything which will LIMIT your options later. Be academically well rounded.

Also, follow this thread I started. It’s early, but you may see some funny things which elicit some of your own memories.
