I chose A&M over UT and...

everyone thinks I’m crazy. (I think it’s because I’m still in Austin)
Whatevs :P

Am I the only one?

Kids from my school (Houston area) chose A&M over UT (even for business), and I think they’re crazy. But that’s just my opinion.

you are preaching to the choir here!

klparker312, that tee is hilarious!
But it’s a bit girly. Otherwise, I would wear it.
:P

My daughter was told that was one of the three Must have Tshirts for A&M.
The other two was a Class of '13 shirt and a saw 'em off shirt.
She is set!

Nope. Engineering right here, decided on A&M because it was a better fit. UT has a great program as well, but, I really just wanted to go to A&M.

DP

I chose A&M Engr. over UT Engr. two years ago. Both my parents are UT alum and I grew up and graduated HS in Austin.

At least you had a choice. I can’t believe that I haven’t heard from A&M yet. It looks like I will be a longhorn in the fall…

You haven’t heard anything yet???
Freaking ridiculous!!

Did you have to send spring grades?

How hv your 2 yrs been?

I chose a&m over UT to and my mom went to UT. I chose a&m because i just love the atmosphere much more.
I also have a friend from austin who went to a&m over UT and she said she was the only one in her school who did that and it was wierd at first but now she loves it.

Yeah I sent in my spring grades around May 13th.

i’ve never been to TAMU…but UT campus was nothing but cement all over…just felt very non-college to me…

Amazing, couldn’t have asked for a better experience and it just keeps getting better. I’m succeeding academically, I’ve been granted a scholarship from the department I’m majoring in for next year, I love what I’m learning, I’ve had multiple internship offers, I work for the school in the department I’m majoring in, I’ve met some good friends, and I’ve met the girl I fell in love with and more importantly whom loves me in return. If I could go back to my senior year in HS I’d easily take A&M over UT again.

Thanks for sharing gstein.
I’m definitely ready for A&M…
Well, I better be since I already signed a lease for a house :P

I hear that there are lots of love stories out of A&M and a high percentage of alums marry.

Do they still do the kiss your date tradition after the first touchdown at the football games?

Some relatives of ours had their first date to an A&M football game and the wife said she fell in love at that first touchdown kiss. They’ve been married about 50 years now.

People here seem to find whom they are looking for, even if it’s not when they expected they would (my story). And with 50,000 students… there’s plenty to pick from.

Yes, we still carry out that tradition. However, it’s not always carried out (depends on the girl lol), but it still frequently happens… and me and my gf avidly participate in that tradition! Don’t forget the tradition of kissing when the lights go off at midnight yell! Hehe, that’s a great one too.

Almost 32 years ago I sat next to a cute corp boy in an engineering math class. We got married our senior year and in August we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
Last Wednesday-Friday I took our 17 yr old daughter to College Station for New Student CONFERENCE…
I would be thrilled if she found the love of her life at A&M.

i suspect that more aggies marry each other than longhorns do each other…

I suspect that more aggies get married than do longhorns.

P.S. My parents met at UT and got married (and are still married). Same goes for my Aunt and Uncle.
