So , All my ancestors are Hispanic , however it all stops at my late great grandmother who ran away to another country , married a man who spoke English … had children who she didn’t bother to teach the language to etc.
I can’t even speak Spanish (I can a little , but not fluently) , neither do I look like I am Latina . I have never even met my ancestors (I have heard about them, but have never met them in person . It would just be really stupid to befriend a family your great grandma had abandoned) . Do I really have to say that I am Hispanic on my application . I honestly never embrace that side of me , its as if I am not Hispanic
Put whatever you consider yourself to be, or don’t answer the question at all (as I think it’s optional, right?). Nobody’s going to threaten you to make sure you put down Hispanic.
You don’t have to put anything; it is entirely optional
