i couldn't really find a category to put this..

sorry in advance because this doesn’t really have much to do with SAT’s but i didn’t know where to put this…

when i did my scheduling my freshman year, i was just afraid that i would get bad grades if i took honors classes for english and history so i took college prep classes instead of honors. then, for my sophomore year, i decided that i would challenge myself and take the honors english II and AP US History I class… i did not too shabby in my english class, B~B+ average. however i did horribly in my history class, C/C+ average. this year, my junior year, i’m taking AP English III and AP US History II and i have an A average in English and B+/A- average in US History. Will adcoms look at this in a positive way that i challenged myself and brought myself up or will this flaw my transcript and adcoms will frown upon my freshman class choices and the bad grades during my sophomore year??

thank you for any responses!

i’m planning to apply to pretty high reach schools btw,

My D at Harvard got a C in Calculus I doing joint enrollment in HS, got some tutoring, and pulled an A in Calculus II. She wrote about rising to the challenge on one of her application short answers. It worked out for her.

thank you gadad
