I did a real ACT practice test and am shocked

<p>Statement: I suck at the SATs. (for many personnel vendettas and stupid stuff )
but I just took the ACT and IF the ACT to SAT score conversion is true (for most colleges) then I did way better.
the conversion table i used:

<p>is this surreal? I mean, I practiced and practiced for the SAT and only got a 1850 (550CR 660M 650W) and now I haven’t practiced not nearly as much for the act and I just got a composite practice test score of 33 (36M 31W 29R 36S)</p>

<p>i am real bad at reading and my sat reading would hardly ever budge. Is the ACT reading easier than the ACT?
and for the MATH, I practiced loads for the SAT math and sucked. but for the ACT it just seems easier…is there a hidden truth that im oblivious of?</p>

<p>if anyone could answer my confusion…it’d be GREAT</p>

<p>Some people just do better on the ACT. Like you, my daughter thought that is was much easier than the SAT. Did you time each section of your practice ACT test? If you did, than your practice scores should be a pretty good indicator of how you’ll do on the actual test. Go ahead and sign up for the test. All colleges will take the ACT score in place of an SAT score, so you won’t have to send in your SAT scores if the ACT is better.</p>

yes i did time for math (which I had extra time left over), English and science. but for the reading…I really suck.</p>

<p>Kaplan has a good ACT book with lots of tips to improve your scores. It might be worth getting it to work on your reading. The only other thing that helps reading is to read for pleasure, but that takes a while. A 29 isn’t a bad score if that’s your lowest one. Good luck.</p>
