The liberally educated person is one who is able to resist the easy and preferred answers,
not because he is obstinate but because he knows others worthy of consideration.
Allan Bloom

Assignment: What is one important easy and preferred answer that we should resist? That is,
what dangerous misconception do people commonly hold? Write an essay in which
you answer this question and support your position logically with examples from literature,
the arts, history, politics, science and technology, current events, or your experience
or observation.

A liberally educated person not only has specific knowledge about his field of study,but also has all-round knowledge contrary to someone who is just inclined in one direrction.
this is something we all must cultivate in order to have a more broad approach to success and expand our horizons of thinking.
as an example,one who knows around 5 lnguages will be more open to suggestions and other inputs from people most probaly because he has expanded his boundaries of knowledge by learning those,thus coming across thoughts from more number of people,
contrary to one who knows just his mothertongue and some other language.

this comes the same way as a person who interacts with more number of people on a daily basis,which makes him come across different types of people;
on the other hand,a shy and a socially introvert person might not have much knowledge about how people think,thus thinking that people think the same way as he does.
yes one might not realise this since he is constantly within his small world wherein his thoughts are the only ones he comes across,in a bid for getting involved in his field of study,thusignoring what others think,though subconstiously.

on the other hand,one who is liberally educated is well aware of what people think and thus will go for something simple that common man understands and thus achieving success more often than not since its a kind of team work and it is one of the requirements for achieveing success,which the nerdy and the shy ones lack.

thus the former goes for preferred stuffs that common people understand easily,such people succeed in the long run and can have a good shot if they opt to go into fields such as business.

but common people assume he is obstinate which infact is not at all true,though its true in case of the non-liberally educated people aka socially shy and introverted people.
