<p>I was more involved freshman year when I did jazz band, dixieland, and chorus, but I didn’t like our music program so I stopped when soph began. The main thing I did on-campus was the school’s writing magazine, which only met once every other month; I volunteered as a tutor at a nearby place, otherwise. I applied myself academically by taking all the honors/APs I could, took the AP test, and ended the year with a 4.14 GPA unweighted, but I still feel like I hadn’t been busy enough.
Next year, I already have an idea as to what I’m going to do to get myself more involved, but will my lack of EC’s from last year hinder me when I start applying? My top three schools are Michigan Ann Arbor, Amherst College, and Boston College.</p>
