All these essay prompts are so overwhelming! Most of them are due next Friday, and I haven’t even started. I know it’s my fault for procrastinating, it’s just that it’s so hard for me to even come up with the first sentence. I even feel like I am not good enough to apply to Boston University and the University of Pennsylvania. My ACT(20) and SAT’s(1360) are horrible! My GPA is 3.64-which is even worse.

Ack I totally know how you feel - a girl got into Yale from my school EA, and no more than 1 person has ever gotten in from my school on a given year, so I feel like my chances are already shot. Working on that Yale app was like the hardest thing I’ve ever done ahaha.
There’s a large gap between Boston University and UPenn… isn’t UPenn way harder to get into than Boston U? That’s what I’ve always thought, anyway.
ADad is right, you might want to post in the chances forum: [What Are My Chances? - College Confidential](Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums)

ahhh, I sympathize. But really, mull it over in your head. You probably won’t come up with the best ideas just sitting in front of a blank word document. Go on the school’s website (if it’s a why us? kind of essay), or even just go to sleep and keep thinking about it.
My suggestions would be: can you mold a
A) Significant experience in your life with the essay?
B) Significant person you knew with the essay?
C)A strong view on a certain subject (politics, etc.)
D)Anything else that is unique to you?

I usually start there and mold what I’ve experienced to demonstrate my views on the prompt.

I got the same exact dam problem as you have. It’s my own fault I procratinated, and I have a low SAT and ACT score as well (IM TRYING TO APPLY TO UPENN). I’m going to try to apply, but my hopes of making it are 1/million. =(

My stats are only a notch higher than yours tho.
Good luck; it helps me a little, but not enought when I THINK OF MY FUTURE LIFE AND EVERYTHING I WANT! You have to earn it, starting with the commonapp.
