I just graduated High School 2 weeks ago with a 3.2 GPA, and I am going to MiraCosta College for 2-3 years before (possibly) transferring to a four-year college (my top choices are UCLA and UCSD). I am really bored this summer and I realized this because I didn’t realize that I could be doing an internship or working on skills. In today’s ever changing economy, it is important to make a good salary, so I want to jump-start my career before I actually start college next year. I feel very lost and confused because I don’t know what my passion is (I do have A’s in math and B’s in psychology, however). Any suggestions for me CC community?
Since you are going to be commuting to MCC, why don’t you just look for a part-time job that you can continue once your classes begin? That is probably the best way to get a jump-start on your eventual career.
For now, you could just get a regular summer job like other kids your age. Jump starting your career will probably make more sense as you get more work experience and see what other opportunities are out there. Agree that a job that will last into the next school year is a good idea.
I got a job and am working at Vons supermarket for 20 hours a week
