I Don't Know What to Write My Essay On!

I have a few ideas and would like start as early as possible so the college application process wouldn’t be as stressful. However, I don’t know what I should do. Here are the ideas I have

-How my freshman year I hated math with a passion: I even have the first quarter math grade to prove it. But by the end of my freshman year with the help of my math teacher and the school tutorial program, I actually started to realize that Math was actually a great subject. (keep in mind : I plan to major in math).

OR

Just focus on how the school tutorial program helped me realize my love for math.

OR

How participating in the school tutorial program helped me to get different perspectives of live through the people I tutored.

OR

-Try to combine all three.

I have been stumped on what to do! I know that I want to incorperate math and the school tutorial program but I don’t even know how. Can some of you CCers help me ?

I say a combination of the 2nd and 3rd ones. I suppose you could also incorporate a little bit of the 1st idea to show how your perception of math changed but don’t make it too extreme. For example, don’t talk about anything like tearing pages out of textbooks or throwing calculators on the ground. You say that you “hated math with a passion” but make sure you don’t come off as a teenager with anger-management problems. Other that that, I think you have a good idea going.

I would suggest the first topic. It shows how you changed as a person. I have read many essays, and the ones that don’t involve a significant “problem”, so to speak, are generally boring and uninvolved.

Just think- if you were telling a story, which story would be more compelling?
