<p>so it’s almost summer of junior year. and i have NO IDEA WHERE I WANT TO GO or i could possibly get into. most of my list are reaches. (then again, my list is just random schools taken from these forums… i’ve visited a grand totale of 3 but i will this summer, haha) and i don’t want to go to my safties. can y’all help me? i’m an asian female, go to a pretty competitive public high school in mass</p>
<p>GPA: 3.8w (unweighted its pretty low, haha… i think at least top 15%-20%. screwed my sophmore year, but it goes from 3.7 -> 3.5 -> 4.0w but MOST vigorous classes offered… i’m taking 6 APs total when most only take 2-3)

I think my greatest hook (? maybe) will be submitting my art portfolio, and I’ve won a few nationally recognized art awards (Scholastic, Golden Globe Art Awards - silver) and several regional ones, as well as many in-school art awards each year. My artwork has also been published in books and whatnot.
Regional Literary Magazine internship: ~50hrs (did all the layout/formatting/techie work!)
PALS tutoring leader (tutoring BRIGHT students who don’t have that opportunity in a neighboring town) : very intensive community work… 7hr/week (11,12), probably ~100+hrs
Other Community Service Clubs: MOST (funds, charity walks), Red Cross Club (helps natural causes victims) (10-12)
Student Leadership Council (11, 12)
Ultimate Frisbee (10, 12)</p>

<p>I want to go to a school with somewhat of a suburban/urban setting, with a good premed/business program, possibly architecture?.. erm, yes. HELP!?</p>
<p>I’m beginning to think maybe I should apply EVERYWHERE and wish for the best. (kinda like a lottery ticket…) If I get rejected from everywhere… well, there’s always community college… <em>die</em></p>
<p>As long as your essays don’t hurt you, I think you have a great chance at all those schools with your stats. Good luck and enjoy the applications…=)</p>
<p>There is such a thing as being too detail-minded. You have excellent credentials, and have a reasonable list of schools of interest. Keep adding schools with an eye toward your intended major. If you go to a competitive school, take advantage of its counseling department and have them suggest some schools.</p>
<p>This summer, take your pumped-up list and start evaluating. Your visits will give you clues as to what size and college culture are most appealing. Keep track of the good and the bad - one or two negatives don’t mean an automatic “delete.” The most important things to keep in mind are your major and the fit/feel of college. Financial aid may or may not be one of your priorities, but it usually part of the equation. </p>
<p>Instead of worrying about your GPA, look at the great credentials you have - strong scores, award-winning artistic talent, meaningful community service. You have a good shot at all the schools on your list, but they are very different environments. Take the time to find the right fit.</p>
<p>Well, you obviously shouldn’t apply to Tufts ED unless that’s where you’re CERTAIN you want to go and couldn’t imagine yourself going anywhere else.</p>
