i get pretty good grades…but i dont study much…i mean i hear people hear talking about studying 12 hours a day for a test…i just CANT do that

my number one choice school is cmu right now but i might change my mind if i get more money somewhere else…etc…

do you think ill die at a school like that since im not used to excessive studying?

yeah well thas real naith hahaha, I don’t really know, just like posting an incoherent phrase. sorry

It really depends on the atmosphere of CMU, you know, whether or not it’s a party school or has a real competitive vibe that does not have an enriching competition but rather a demoralizing one. Also, if CMU is a big school or not can really help on this whole competitive vibe. Sorry, I don’t know much on CMU personally, but yea it just depends on your whole perspective on the school as a whole.

Long as you can get a good GPA and a good SAT score… that’s what matters really… (i know people who don’t study alot… and have big gaps b/w their SATs and GPA) having a big gap b/w SAT and GPA is bad i heard, because then colleges know you are a slacker.

im not sure about whether or not i have a gap

my sat score
math- 760
verbal-620
writing-750

gpa-
uw-3.8
w-4.26

but ive already been accepted to these colleges so its not really an issue of them thinking im a slaker or what not

yeah slakers suck
drinking all the damn water all the time

um yeah that makes sense

Morgan have you read my experiences and Walden’s? None of us study for more than 3 hours at a time and Walden’s double majoring in ECE and something with a 4.0 and I have a 3.8.

“Sorry, I don’t know much on CMU personally, but yea it just depends on your whole perspective on the school as a whole.”

Yea that perspective was a couple years ago and was based a lot on false rumors and Pittsburgh as a city. Things have changed since then and many of the rumors are false. We are not on the Unhappiest Colleges list, we are not on the Hardest to get an A list, and Pittsburgh kicks ass!

i dont remember anything about a walden…but yes i have read yours but i need more opinions…for all i know you might just be an insanely smart person…so it would be stupid to compare myself to you…lol

its so hard to decide between colleges…:(…im going to visit this weekend though!

Okay. How about Walden? He tells his personal experience in the social thread in the CMU board. The best option is to visit and hang out with some students. Just the fact that we are not on the “Hardest to get an A” school list should tell you something :)

i wish i could have the time to visit each of my schools and have more time to spend there…but the closest i live to a school is like 5 hours and the farthest is like 13 hours…so its pretty hard

but ill definatly have to go see cmu…and ill check out waldens thread

acceptedalready, i have a question just out of curiosity

are you a guy or girl?

Guy.

I don’t think they let girls join frats :)

Actually, isn’t there a school where they let girls live in the frat houses, and to the frat brothers she has the title of sister or something like that. We had been talking about that in school though can’t remember though Duke or Davidson could be the one’s sticking in my head.

just making sure lol

morgan17, u definately seem to be an intelligent person. there’s a guy in my school who got into upenn and only spends a few min. studying right before a test is given out, but he always ends up getting an A in the end. so…i wouldn’t worry about it too much. if u know what ur doing in class, there is no need to spend too much time studying

thanks! its not like a spend a few minutes studying…i study a good deal…but i can honestly say i have never had an all nighter or anything close to one

Let me just put it this way, yea ummm, all-nighters really suck. That’s all.
