I can’t understand for what should i write in the essay. I understand this:
broaden your global perspective, but i can’t figure out what means this:
cultivate your capacity for social responsibility?
Could someone help me, and explain me what the topic actually is, what
should i write in the essay?

For global perspective you should refer to globalization and that an education abroad would give you a unique background and ability to contribute to the future world. Something along those lines.

Social responsibility would be something along the lines of learning correct moral and ethical ways and to be part of a world not making the same mistakes as companies such as Enron, World Com and so on.

Start by asking yourself if you HAVE any capacity for social responsibility! What are your ethical beliefs regarding society? Do you live just for yourself alone, or do you believe that we all have a responsibility to help each other in some way, to make the world a better place? Some teenagers have never even thought about such issues. Look at your family or social or religious background - were you brought up to be selfish, to believe, “As long as I have mine, I don’t care about anyone else?” or was your family like mine? We were brought up to believe that, as the Bible says, “to whom much is given, much will be required.” We believed that charity, paying taxes, volunteer work, is the price we HAPPILY pay for living. We believe that if we suffered any social injustice, rather than complain and whine, we would try to make so other people did not have to suffer in the same way.

So, this school wants to know how going there can help CULTIVATE - grow, develop, nourish - a sense of social responsibility, of GIVING BACK.

Your essay will look TOTALLY FAKE if it is not from the heart. Yeah, you can talk about accounting scandals at big corporations like Enron, but that is NOT ENOUGH.

Is there someone you think of as a hero who helps others, who believes we are socially connected and must care for each other? Mother Teresa? Anyone? Look at their lives for ideas. Look at your own life!
