I failed a test. Dreams dashed?

First off, I’m an international student so I know this really isn’t the right place but I’m feeling really lost. I failed an internal school final in a subject which I’m taking at a higher 3 level (this is my final year). I’ll be taking the national exams (a levels) for the subject later, but to my understanding the results wouldn’t really count as it is released in march when decisions are already made. The higher 3 level is kind of equivalent to AEAs or special papers in the UK system- i took it as I did well for the subject last year and only the top 10-15% are offered the paper. Its not used for university admissions but will still show up in the grade transcript. I’m feeling devastated over the failure and I’m not too sure how it would look in the eyes of an admissions officer. Would it be wise to email the admissions office to find out or will it just reflect badly on me?

ihateme, I’m so sorry about your feeling that you failed and now your dreams are dashed. How horrible that would feel.

It looks like you already have good results from your previous tests I did well for the subject last year and only the top 10-15% are offered the paper You also say admissions folks don’t use this in their decision. So, really you only worry is that this shows up on your transcript. Chalk it up to a bad test day and move forward.

In answer to your question: no. do not call an admissions person about this test. That only highlights the poor result. If you call (at all), it’s only to highlight good scores/results.
