So I just got rejected by Bard, and in Mid-Feb Lehigh. Though I’m not that interested in Bard, I’m still worried. The rejection letter states clearly that due to the large financial aid package I need they cannot offer me admissions. My family contributes around 28k-31k/year, but Bard’s cost is like 65k urg. Bard and Lehigh are lower in rank compared to Bucknell, does this mean I stand no chance to Bucknell?
I’m an intl student by the way.
did they invite you for an interview? my friend had one and he reported that they didn’t do it for every applicant, so it can be a good sign, but of course will not say anything about your decision. Just sth to think positively.
@MollyN no they don’t
guess I’m doomed. sometimes I just wanna withdraw my application to save me from the pain of being rejected all over again. sighs
Are these your dream schools? Have you heard from any reach schools yet? Also, may I know why did you choose these because personally I think they’re so expensive
so getting a decent amount of aid is more competitive. just a thought.
@sushiforlife: Bucknell advertises as a “need blind” school. Your financial situation is not supposed to influence admittance one way or the other. (I don’t know about Bard or Lehigh). Supposedly they look at your need AFTER you are accepted. ( I really doubt this though.) Anyway, you might still be rejected for financial reasons - Bucknell losing out on tuition money; but that reason won’t be made known to you!
