<p>Yeah, our coach is kind of crazy and takes our trophies immediately for display in the awards case. So, it was removed from my possession and I didn’t get to relish in my temporary greatness. Sad, right?</p>

What’s the January topic?</p>
<p>No, actually it’s what my friends call me. I don’t live in Ames.</p>
<p>And I relate to trophy-taking-away-ness. My partner took it home to show his parents, but I’m thinking I’ll steal it away before it permanently locked up in our case.</p>
<p>The January topic is about Intelligent Design, which is about 180 degrees away from the NBA.</p>
<p>If decisions really do come out on Friday, I’ll go crazy during rounds not knowing!</p>
<p>Thank God our debate season is over for awhile. I’ll have plenty of time to waste checking the decision site - hopefully, we’ll get them on Thursday, though.</p>
<p>As for Intelligent Design, good luck with that in Iowa. 
I’m going to guess the judges will have a few preconceived notions on that topic before the debate even begins. I think I’ll just stick with the LD topic…</p>
<p>haha…very true, especially for lay PF judges.</p>
<p>It’s a nice break from screams of “Racist!” and “Ethnocentrism!” when I argue that the NBA dress code is warranted. What a weird topic…</p>
<p>Do you travel a lot into other states?</p>
<p>Missouri debaters can’t really travel outside of the state because of our State HS Activities Association mandates. The executive director claims that there is more than enough ‘good competition’ in the state and that travelling ‘beyond the state’ is a waste of resources…</p>
