…but I applied to Chemistry at the College.

If my yearn for SEAS outweighs my love of the College, what do you guys advise me on doing? Should I email admissions and modify my application now, before decisions come out (and send a SEAS supplement to admissions)? Or would it be better, if I am accepted, to internally transfer?

Any advice is appreciated.

a) do you want to be a chemical engineer, or do you just want to study chemE. if you think you really want to become a chemical engineer, then do as you said above and see how columbia responds. if it is just to study it, then your reasoning and therefore email might be shallow.

b) i primarily refer to the fact that if you even sniff that your interest in chemE or chem is because you want to be a doctor, your chances of admission become harder. why? because you become a dime a dozen. your best chance of admission is to be sincere and clear in your major choice.

c) internally transferring cc to seas is far easier than the other way around, certainly an option. but being admitted to either school will be insanely hard.

lol, just out of curiosity, what did you research that made you fall in love with chem.e?
