I found something amazing today...

After more than 2 years of knowing my Japanese teacher (who I know very, very well), I just found out today that her son went to college at Wharton!!!

Wharton is my number one choice without a doubt. Is this faith?

Can I utilize this unique position to gain an advantage in admissions?

(Yes, I’m really desperate)

short answer no

Any other suggestions?

I mean, ask your teacher if you can contact him and ask the real wharton students some advice

this guy who rides the bus with me also went to wharton-similar situation (i.e. can i use this info to help me w/ my penn admission)?

there are lots of people out there who know current wharton students or alumni. unless you plop it in your essay somewhere and make it unique, like about how you were inspired by the kind of person that the other person became because of wharton, then it’s not gonna help. Sorry.

you can get in touch with him, and he may give you some advice, and if he has some good relationships with some professors, u may be lucky and he may get in you touch with some of them, and they may help u out someway

should of had this teacher write you a rec. She would have been able to say that she has a good idea of what wharton is looking for and that you fit that mold

one of my teacher’s recs is from a Penn alum, he told me he wrote how he thinks I would fit in Penn and all that in his letter. I don’t think it helps, but I guess it can’t hurt.

You should definitely write that in your “Why Penn” essay. Really… I mean having Wharton as your No 1 choice because the son of someone you know is going there? Oh C’mon!
