i give up on life

lately nothing has been going well in my life. i’ve been practically sick for the entire october (took the SAT with fever too… crappy score) and i had to scrap my common application essay a week before the deadline because, well, it sucked majorly.

friday after school i found out that i didnt get my counselor to sign the ED agreement form, so i have to have it faxed in on monday…

and today, in my state of panic, i was revising my optional penn essay but missed a grammar error. i submitted the supplementary page, read the autobio again, then saw that i forgot to write a verb in one of the sentences.

I just give up on life. i really wanted to get into penn too, and all these things happen… i know i absolutely brought this upon myself for doing too many things at once, but life just tastes sour right now…

Overreaction? Worse things could happen dude. Relax.

It sounds ridiculous to give up after a “grammar error” and “getting sick.” Those are very natural. And Penn will understand jeez.

no… it’s not just a grammar error and my ED agreement form not being turned in that’s driving me crazy. it’s just that those two things had to happen on top of the things that i’m going through.

and i dont think penn will simply overlook the fact that i have a grammar error on my essay and plus i didnt turn in my ED agreement form before the deadline :[

If it’s just one error it’s no biggie. More than one I can see as a problem. It shouldn’t break you.

And yeah the ED agreement thing sucks. But there’s nothing you can do about it so you might as well not dwell upon something you can’t change.

You’ll be fine for the ED agreement. trust me. just call and ask. it’s confusing…a lot of people didn’t know you actually needed to print it out and mail. As long as you marked ED on your commonapp, they know.

I am feeling you right now… I just submitted my ED app at 12:20, 20 minutes late …

not sure what is going to happen but I hate myself right now

I know someone who submitted his application to Dartmouth 1 day late…because the postal office wasn’t open on Jan 1. He was accepted. He didn’t even write an explanatory letter.

Just get your GC to sign it on Monday. And believe me, adcoms aren’t grammar Nazis. In fact, I heard most essays you spend 2 months writing would be skimmed over in under 2 minutes. Kinda sad huh?

I have my share of misery too…I totally forgot to include AP’s I am going to take on my common app. 3 of the AP’s are crucial to my undergrad major. But the week after ED submission should be chill time, right?
