Is this a general form letter for everyone or is it just for high school students?
"Your acceptance to the University was based on the information you provided at the time you applied for admission. The offer of admission is contingent upon the following conditions:
Satisfactory completion of the current semester and that you will continue to perform in the classroom at a level comparable to the one presented to the admission committee."
I got two D’s and a B this semester ,and I’m worried about my admission. My gpa was 3.0 but then i got these grades this semester and i’m sure it will go down dramatically. I was recently got accepted as a transfer from community college to a university. Would my admission be revoked after they get my final transcript?
You should prepare for the worse. Two Ds from an incoming transfer student will rightfully raise huge red flags from URI. The contingency is designed to weed out behaviors that you’ve exhibited. It tells them your likelihood of graduating is slim and they don’t want to chance it with immature or unfocused students.
For you to have any chance (and I’m not saying you do), if I were you, I’d get down to the URI’s admissions office today and plead your case. It’ll be very simple for them to dismiss you without a second thought. Perhaps if you humanize yourself, you might find a sympathetic ear.
Maybe you should retake the two courses this summer at Community college. Get to your counselor’s office immediately and work out a plan, then have the counselor contact your college and explain your plans to correct your mistakes. You are in trouble and you just take action or,you will ot have a college to attend in the fall. Sorry to be blunt, but please be proactive now.
Two D’s can be an issue. As someone on CC says you want to avoid D’s. F’s and felonies! At this point all you can do is the school and see what they say.
