I got a score of 1030 on my first try taking the SAT, how can I improve to a 1300 at least?

I really need to boost my score since the next time I take the SAT is going to be last. I will be a senior by then and it is going to be the second time I take the test. I have been studying throughout the summer but I don’t really feel that I can get to my goal yet. I have bought the guides of the SAT already but I want to know what else I can do to boost my score to the maximum.

I would recommend buying the Official SAT Blue Book and the SAT Black Book (Published by Mike Barrett). Take practice exams on the SAT Blue Book and look at the types of questions you got incorrect. Go to the SAT Black Book and read the strategies on the missed questions, study it, and continue doing more practice exams. The more practice exams the better!

Maybe you should try ACT.

I second the above poster. If you’re scoring 1030/2400, then the ACT might be better for you. The questions are much less tricky than the SAT and it has no vocab on it.

Do a lot of practice problems from practice tests in the SAT blue book. That will definitely improve your score and don’t think that the ACT is easier. The fast pace will get you if you aren’t a fast reader.
