I got accepted to UIUC as a major that I am not interested in… I wanted to major in either Accounting, Economics or Mathematics but ended up being in East Asian languages and culture with 40,000 scholarships…
Can you guys think of a good way or give me some advice what to do at this point on?
To be an accountant I have 2 choices…
Pathway 1
(available only to candidates who passed all four sections of the Uniform CPA Exam prior to Dec. 31, 2013)
A bachelor’s degree;
24 semester units in accounting-related subjects;
24 semester units in business-related subjects;
Passing the Uniform CPA Exam;
Passing the Professional Ethics Exam for CPAs; and
Two years of general accounting experience supervised by a CPA with an active license.
Pathway 2
(available only to candidates who passed all four sections of the Uniform CPA Exam prior to Dec. 31, 2013)
A bachelor’s degree;
24 semester units in accounting-related subjects;
24 semester units in business-related subjects;
150 semester units (or 225 quarter units) of education;
Passing the Uniform CPA Exam;
Passing the Professional Ethics Exam for CPAs; and
One year of general accounting experience supervised by a CPA with an active license.
