I got an F in my first semester

I’m in a community college right, it is my first semester in college. I stayed up all night for last few days for my finals. And today I realized I might going to get an F in my stats class.

But I’m looking forward to transfer in next two years! What I can do to improve my GPA in next semester? I guess there is no four years college would like a student who got an F in her grades… I couldn’t understand my stats professor’s English and his explanations about math. I talked to him during the semester, he always answer something not related to my questions…

What I’m gonna do… Before I was hoping to transfer to a four years college, now I guess I am not going to go that two years later… Most colleges I want to transfer are looking for a 3.7+ GPA, if I don’t take stats I will totally get that GPA, but now my GPA will be lower than 3.7 and there will be an F in my entire grades… Please tell me what I can do to improve right now or next semester, thank you!!!

Retake the class and replace the grade.

Take an English course and get some help for your grammar skills while you are there.

In addition to reading the stats text assigned for the course, you can read other texts that can help explain the same concepts. Sometimes a different explanation and different examples are useful. Online resources also are available. Your professor’s accent doesn’t explain why you got an F while other students did not.

Study and learn the material next time. Go to every class. Find a study partner and work on assignments together. Good luck!
