i know i will lose the 100 deposit but how do i cancel it?</p>

<p>ohh i wrote lots of things like…</p>
<p>how they didnt put me in the elc list even though im ranked 4 out of 730 for some reason, my parents didnt work at all last year so dealing with some of the changes was stressing, how i still volunteer at the hospital every week eveen after the applications, how i played piano since 5th grade, and in frsehmen year i explained i didnt know about the honors program since i came from a private school and no one said anything so i didnt take any honors classes but afterwards i found out and i took on challengign classes, (now im taking 5 ap’s) , and how much i wanted to go ucla and iw rote some stuff so it looked like i thouroughly researched it and how its right for me cuz of their hospital sinc eim premed and stuff :)</p>

<p>i think the hollistic admissions has really screwed up ucla in the academia department. i mean look at this, everyone’s getting in on appeals when it used to be no one used to.</p>
<p>it’s like we’re letting in stupid people. no offense, not saying you’re stupid or anyhthing.</p>
<p>I hate hollistic. I know a kid from our schools drama department that got into UCLA with a 1530 (out of 2400) SAT score.</p>
<p>i dont think THAT many more people are getting in on appeals. i think its just that the people on CC are pretty hardcore. they are the ones that want it the most, so it doesnt really represent the demographic fairly ahha. (also, people that post are usually the successful ones. those that get rejected usually disappear from cc )</p>
<p>Very true, just like how most of the posts for the “Decisions” thread were acceptances. Rejections don’t get posted that much anyway ;). So all we’re hearing about here is the successful appeals. In reality the appeal rate is 3-5%, hahaha :D</p>

<p>lol sorry for not answering the thread in my earlier post. i think the only way you can cancel it is to email the school explaining that you just got into another school on appeal.</p>
<p>you email, fax, or call the school. Tell them that you no longer want to attend the school. However, chances are that you wont get your money back if you already made the deposit.</p>
<p>Make sure UCLA doesn’t drop you when they see you SIR’d to Cal. You might want to call UCLA admissions and ask them this question before doing anything.</p>
<p>congrats.It does seem like everyone is getting in on appeals.But I think you are suposed to call the admissions office and explain to them about how you are going to be attending another school because you are accepted on appeal.</p>

<p>It’s May 6th and I still haven’t heard about the UCLA appeal.</p>
<p>same here… I have not heard back. They said they would return decision within 3 weeks, well it will be three weeks on Tuesday. I absolutley NEED to find out by the 10th.</p>
<p>i remember i appealed to berkeley and got in but already sent in my sir. i don’t remember if i ever really “cancelled” anything. I might have just left it alone. because there are other steps after the sir that need to be done before you’re fully enrolled.</p>
