Before applying to Stanford REA, I made a list of colleges to apply.

REA:
Stanford

RD:
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Northwestern HPME, Brown PLME, Penn Wharton Huntsman or Dental (Yes, I know that I have a genuine interest in business and medicine. But I haven’t set a career goal yet precisely because it is too early to set a limit for myself.), USC Medical, NYU 7 Year BA/DDS Dental

I am from a low income family, so financial aid is a “must” thing to attend. In my opinion, I am not really comfortable to be in the “preppy” environment (but it is not a big deal). I want to be at where I can be happy both academically and socially. In other words, I don’t want to go to a school to live by its name. Beside academics, I want to play varsity soccer.
I do hate to be over-confident, but I think I am qualified to get into almost any colleges matching with my style. Where do you think I have to apply for Regular Decision? Thank you very much in advance.

Well have you talked to the coaches? It’s kind of late in the game to not know.

Was Stanford’s financial aid sufficient? Or do you not know yet?

I was under the impression the 7 year medical/undergrad programs were meant for people who were sure they wanted to go to medical school. I could be wrong though.

These four I’d still apply to. They each offer something Stanford doesn’t. Columbia with NYC and the core. Harvard has Boston and a ton of prestige, although you said the latter wasn’t too important. Yale has very strong arts/humanities and the residential college system. Princeton? Actually maybe delete that one.

If you hate to be overconfident, you might want to try another screen name.

All of the schools on your list will have plenty of preppy students, but also lots of kids who aren’t especially preppy, since they all have great need-based financial aid.

That’s a question you should ask yourself OP. Where do you want to study? If Stanford’s your first choice and they’re giving you enough aid, then why bother applying elsewhere? If it’s not, then apply to whichever colleges you like more, or which will give better aid. As you said, go with the ones that are your style, and only you can determine those.
