I got kicked out and I want to get highet education

I’m now a student who have study in QCC, I got a very low GPA(0.6) in city tech for 3 semesters…and I got kicked out… Now I realized how important for me to get better education…I got 3.5 GPA this semester in QCC, but will the GPA in city tech effect my transfer? Someone told me that I should retake the classes that I failed but it’s too many…. And there are some classes that don’t exist in QCC, What should I do to get to transfer to QC or better college?..

I assume that a track record of proven performance at the CC (more than one semester) would help you when you want to apply to a four year college. I would focus on taking classes that will be useful to your major. Your CC advisor can help you.

You’ll have to include all your transcripts when you transfer, so having several semesters of strong grades will help. I’d get an associate’s degree first, then apply to transfer.

Are you getting state or federal aid? There’s a limit to the number of semesters you can receive those grants.

As others have said you will need to provide all of your transcripts if you apply to transfer to another school, such as to a four year university. However, your most recent semesters will be the most important, and the most recent two years will be much more important than anything earlier. As such, if you can maintain good grades for a full two years at a community college then you will have a very good chance at attending a good university. They will see the earlier grades in your application, but the fact that you have maintained good grades for a couple of years will make the point that you are capable.

There are many students who mess up for a while, and then get their act together and start to do well. Universities know this and there are many who will give a chance to talented students who have finally started to do well.

As @austinmshauri has sort of said, one challenge could be paying for all of this. There is a time limit on most forms of financial aid and university can of course be expensive. Hopefully you will be okay from the perspective of financing your education but this is something to keep in mind.

ty for all of your advice!!

If you are getting a 3.5 at QCC and you want to transfer, make an appointment to talk to the transfer department at QCC and the admissions dept at the school you want to go to (Queens, Hunter?). They should be able to give you advice. If you have a solid record at QCC, what happened at City Tech might not matter.

Good luck.

Have you gone as far as you can go with QCC? If not, stay there and keep your GPA as high as you can. You’ll have a better shot and transferring if you have earned the associates. There are four year colleges that accept everyone who applies. You can Google them. I would not expect much by way of financial aid, though.
