<p>I got my fat envelope in the mail today! The letter inside was dated 3/18, and the offer for a presidential scholarship was dated 3/13. Union mailed it on 3/19.</p>

<p>Yay! I got accepted! Did anyone’s letter have an added “Wonderful” in Ann Fleming Brown’s handwriting? ^_^</p>
<p>My twin brother and I both had “Wonderful!” written on there but comparing the two, she actually signed it- it’s not an autopen.</p>
<p>Congratulations to all above!!! Where do you all live? My daughter is waiting to hear and we’re in the Midwest, so I’m thinking we’ll probably hear on Sat. or maybe even Mon.</p>

<p>Well, for internationals colleges will usually email or priority mail. I’m not sure what Union does, but you could try calling the admissions office.</p>
<p>Why on the wesbesite, front page they say the application decisions will be mailed out ON March 25? Did you all above apply for special scholarships and you find out a little early or do you think that they just maila the decisions out randomly at different times but all by the 25th?

<p>Oh, one really wierd thing that happened, and kind of stinky:( This past Monday, my daughter receives a BIG FAT ENVELOPE that reads “It’s all about Union” on the outside. Of course we’re all thinking this is an acceptance letter. Even the first line of the letter starts of like"We are pleased to inform you that"… we have received all of you information and your file is complete. Is this not wacked or what? Did anyone else have this experience? The letter was dated as Feb, 2008 and it was postmarked March 18. Does this seem like a mistake or does it seem as if my daughter was all along in the rejection pool? Oh well, c’est la vie!</p>
<p>S. was accepted with the presidential scholarship. In viewing the threads for the other schools to which he has applied, I see a pattern: A small number of people receive acceptances 2-4 weeks before Apr 1, many with good merit awards. Perhaps these are the top of the pool and the college wants to give them additional time to make travel plans for the accepted students events. It’s nice when you hear in this first ‘cut’ but very frustrating when you don’t make that same cut in another school you’re hoping for. Lots of waiting… not easy! Good luck to all.</p>

<p>They might be doing batches of mailing, hopefully doing the last batch no later than 3/25. Or they might be out early (RPI moved up their released date too).</p>

<p>Maybe. We’ll see. Lafayette did the same thing with their Marquis Scholars, and RIT did the same with their presedential scholars. But most schools are inform BY April 1st, they want you to have your decision by then so you have a month to decide.</p>

<p>They gave me a LOT of money, but there’s still about $7,000 gap between what my parents can actually afford and the amount of need they actually met. Hopefully I get accepted to the CT scholars program…that will help a LOT. :D</p>
