I got my first two C's this semester! Still good?

I’m a senior and I got my first 2 C’s this semester in AP Calc. AB and AP Lit. and Comp. I am taking four AP classes, in which two I got C grade, one is A, and the other is B. I think I have like five-six B’s (not AP classes) and like 4 B’s in AP classes (counting as semester). I tried to “challenge” myself by taking lots of AP classes, but I ended up slacking a lot. I was really hoping to get into UPenn with extracuriculars and such, but I’m not so sure anymore. I’m going to try anyways, but…

What do you think a good college match for me would be? 3.7 ish GPA weighed/unweighed is basically the same.
My first choice was: UPenn
Then other choices are : UC Boulder, UMich, UChicago, Wake Forest

Many applications are due in a week (oh yea!).

Feedback is helpful. I’ve been reading around and asking a lot of people already, so I basically know my chances at UPenn, but… :] Anythings possible!

Thanks

Bump…

Are you in-state for either of those Public Us? It is important at Boulder and considered at UMich. Can you afford to pay full freight for OOS schools?

No, i’m not in-state for any of those schools. But besides that, I basically want “brand name” schools that fairly match my stats (I’m not talking about Stanford, Harvard, etc…)

UChicago looks like a reach.

Rank? Scores?

Um… Im ranked like 20/480 weighed and unweighed is maybe 26. ACT is weak;
22 composite.

Retaking SAT for the last time this January, UPenn still accepts.

Don’t send your ACT to Wake Forest and you might have a chance. It looks like all the rest are reaches. What is your safety?

Getting hit by lightning is indeed possible but happens very rarely. With the C’s and the SAT scores, Penn and Chicago are very far reaches. I would consider adding some clear matches and safeties in the event the ACT does not go way up.

My safety is my state school, which I got a scholarship, and UC-Boulder. I can’t take the ACT anymore because schools do not accept, but I can take my SAT I again.

The only reason why I took the ACT was because I didn’t want to take the SAT II and SAT I, but ended up getting a horrible score. The ACT was the first ACT test I have done, and ended up guessing over half the test (I chose a single letter and guessed) because I ran out of time.
Now I have to submit my ACT, and my SAT to make up for my horrible score. I hear some people do better on the ACT than the SAT and vice versa; I don’t think I am good at either, which is quite sad.

It’s great you got a scholarship to your state school. The pressure is off.

I don’t know what you mean by “I can’t take the ACT anymore because schools do not accept, but I can take my SAT I again”. All schools accept both the ACT and SAT and treat them equally. If you are saying you can’t meet scheduled deadlines, that’s different. And CU-Boulder is a reach, not a safety.
