I Got Myself A Delima

Senior Classes:

*Algebra 3
*Honors English
*AP European History
*European History Study (Must take this class if I take AP Euro…this goes for many AP classes)
Honors Physics
**Newswriting
Spanish 4
Drawing and Painting
AP Chemistry
Chemistry Study (same thing as AP Euro thing)

So, as you can see I have 11 classes up there. For my senior year, I will be able to take 8.
The ones with the ** are the class that I HAVE to take…well except for Euro, but I really really want to.

Now I need advice…
Which other classes should I take? The only reason that I have art up there is because I want to apply to a few UC schools and I heard that you need 2 years of art, but I only have 1. Is this true? AND are there any classes up there that would be easy to take at the Community College instead, so I could free up my schdedule?

Thanks a lot! I have tried talking to my counselor about this, but she is absolutely useless.

BTW…I am defintely an English person. I love to read and write, and will be attending a writing program this summer, but I did not make it into AP English.

oh, my, that’s a FULL schedule. But, to answer the short question, the UCs only require ONE year of a Visual or Performing Arts (VAPA). However, it needs to be a UC-approved VAPA class.

Maybe you should take another English class so you can work on the spelling of DILEMMA. :)

What science have you already completed? If you haven’t had any physics I think you should consider that. AP Chemistry takes up two classes at your school. Some colleges, but not all, prefer you to have Bio, chem, and physics. Also, that will free up one period where you could take the Spanish 4. And by all means stay in the History if you really want to take that. With a heavy schedule like this your senior year, you definately want to include something that really interests you.
