Hi
Anyone else had this happen and although they told me that if I don’t go in the fall I wont get my scholarship, if I tell them I am having some mental health challenges related to exhuastion from finishing a rigorous academic program and having adhd and slow processing ets would they reconsider despite the letter?
You were initially declined. The wait list is insurance for them to fill a shortfall if their yield fell short.
It did - and they cashed in their insurance policy - you.
So it wouldn’t make sense you’d be allowed a gap year. It would defeat the purpose of admitting you.
Not sure if you but someone asked an identical question the other day.
I assume you committed and deferred elsewhere.
If so, stick with that plan which already worked out for you.
If not happy, reapply elsewhere in the fall to see if other options come up.
Your health is first and foremost. If you do take a gap year and decide to apply elsewhere, please work or volunteer or do something to strengthen your candidacy.
And don’t take any classes without checking with your deferral or other schools that they won’t change you from first year to transfer and impact your status.
Good luck.
