I got rejected from all scholarships I applied to this year

<p>The reason why anyone is rejected from a scholarship is because there is another applicant that has better credentials, essays, recommendations, etc. than the one being rejected.</p>

<p>If you applied to a bunch of scholarships from sites like Fastweb and such, I’m not surprised. Those gets a gazillion apps for a few awards. they often are a waste of time to apply to.</p>

<p>As for your school-wide scholarship…Is it hard to believe that someone else at your school was more deserving?</p>

It does. However my family is making very little money, so I’m looking for other sources, especially scholarships that don’t require recs.</p>

No, but my senior class is very small, and I’d expected a very small number applied.</p>

<p>Then those who DID apply were more qualified or had a better x than you did. It happens. </p>

<p>I applied to many, many local scholarships. Ironically I only got one very small county-wide one (which had a lot of applicants as my county is pretty large and populated) and a national one. There is no rhyme or reason to these things.</p>

They award 5 people from my schools, and I admit my ECs are a bit nontraditional, perhaps they’re not used to it.</p>

<p>Are they expecting a “student contribution”? If so, how much?</p>

<p>Are they expecting a “parent contribution”? If so, how much? (and why if income is low)?</p>
