I got unconditional acceptance.. can I stop going to HS now?

I received unconditional acceptance at NYU, and have been debating whether to just call it quits until next year. I’m an IB student predicted at 42, but what’s the point if I’m going to NYU no matter what?

If I quit school, is there any way they might retract my acceptance?

Geez, what a slacker… The purpose of going to school is not solely to get into college. And the purpose of going to college is not solely to get a better job. Seems like the time has come for an attitude check…

To answer your question, yes, a dramatic change in your academic performance can be grounds for rescinding the offer.

Congratulations on your acceptance, I hope NYU does not regret their decision

No one gets unconditional acceptance if they haven’t graduated from h/s. Your E.D. acceptance is conditional on your successful completion of all coursework currently in progress. Successful completion means at the same level as when you applied. You will have to submit a final transcript at the end of the school year. You can’t quit school.
