I’ve been worried about the money aspect of college; I can deal with rejection, but it gets to me that I may be accepted to great schools which I would love to attend, but can’t.

A personality quirk: I am essentially a thinking person, to a fault; as in, I look for patterns, generalizations, meanings, in life as in art. I want to find a place where people think like I do (and also where people think in entirely different ways) because I’ve had very little chance to discuss my thoughts with people my own age… I don’t mean to sound elitist or something–I just seem to have different goals than others: I don’t want to learn facts, I don’t want to train, I want to explore different thought processes, and the revelations they may yield. I consider myself different, not better or worse.

So: what are my chances? Where else might I apply (in addition or in replacement of the schools in my list)?
